6 A.M.

Remember when you used to
Write little notes on smooth white paper.
Remember when I could not
Look you in the eye.

Reeling from missing this,
Haunting my own memories,
I allow my heart
To turn pitch black.

As it expands tormentingly,
I lose myself in you.
What I used to do for myself,
Is now done for you.

We were both equals.
Walking along the boulevards of Paris.
Our thoughts intertwined,
Were lost as you kissed me.

The ones I fall for,
Will never fall for me.
So why don’t you pour tar
On an already broken heart.
