On the Edge.

I will never see you again.
In the same city,
We were still miles apart.
Now you’re across the ocean.
I will never see you again.

Looking for the love I felt
In the arms of others.
Lying awake at night,
Watching the colours change,
Across the ceiling,
Hoping you would come back.

The others make my heart race,
But you made it beat again.
The memories of you
Are cherry red,
They choke me with brightness.

And yet it’s always like this,
The pain, drinks, hopelessness.
I will never see you again,
And that turns everything grey.
